MORE THAN A NAME ON A ROLL

A Church Family to Walk With

At Calvary Baptist Church, membership is a significant step in your faith journey. It means becoming part of a loving and supportive family of believers who worship, serve, pray, and grow together.

We encourage you to seek God’s direction in prayer as you consider joining our fellowship. Jesus calls His people to love one another in a way that shows the world we belong to Him.

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

JOHN 13:35 NKJV

THREE WAYS TO BECOME A MEMBER

How You Can Join Calvary

Each path begins with personal faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to unite with this church family.

Believer's baptism
1

Believer’s Baptism

You have placed your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and desire to follow Him in believer’s baptism by immersion.

Baptism publicly declares your faith and pictures Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

ROMANS 6:4
Statement of faith
2

Statement of Faith

You have trusted Christ and have already received believer’s baptism by immersion after salvation, but you are not currently a member of another Baptist church.

You may join by affirming your salvation and baptism as biblically valid.

HEBREWS 10:24–25
Transfer by letter
3

Letter From Another Baptist Church

You are currently a member of another Baptist church of like faith and order and desire to transfer your membership to Calvary.

Our church office will request a letter confirming your membership with that congregation.

A SHARED COMMITMENT

Joining a Spiritual Family

You are not simply joining an organization. You are becoming part of a spiritual family that will worship, serve, pray, and grow together in the grace of Jesus Christ.

Membership also means taking responsibility for the health and mission of the church through faithful participation, loving relationships, generous service, and a commitment to biblical unity.

Do I have to be baptized to become a member?

Calvary receives members who have personally trusted Christ and have received believer’s baptism by immersion after salvation. Those who have not yet been baptized may join as candidates for baptism.
What does “like faith and order” mean?

It refers to another Baptist church whose beliefs and practices are consistent with biblical Baptist doctrine, including salvation by grace through faith and believer’s baptism by immersion.
What happens after I come forward?

A minister will speak with you about your faith in Christ and how you are joining. You will then be presented to the church for affirmation and welcome.
Can I talk with the pastor before making a public decision?

Yes. Contact the church office or use the Let’s Connect form to arrange a conversation with Bro. Davy before responding during a service.
What should I do after becoming a member?
