Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse International Relief which was started by Franklin Graham. If you aren’t familiar with OCC, they organize local churches and individuals to pack shoeboxes with small gifts and necessities as well as gospel tracts to be sent all around the world to children at Christmas time. Story after story is now being shared about children who received these boxes and are now grown; what it meant to them to know that someone far away was praying for them; and taking the time to pack a box and send it to them.

At Calvary Baptist Church, we participate each year by sending over 723 boxes. All year long we fundraise to pay for shipping and collect small items to pack in the shoeboxes. Each year in November our church family hosts a packing party in the gym and we pack hundreds of boxes.
